Our workshop for social entrepreneurs features information about how to start up and run a non-profit organization. Attendees will learn how a business plan is still relevant in a non-profit setting and how to adapt it for unique issues such as governance, tax-exempt status, and fundraising. This workshop is an ideal fit for anyone with the entrepreneurial spirit who is looking to channel it into a social mission.
Start Up! Chicago is a course through which aspiring entrepreneurs learn how to conduct market research, forecast financial potential, write a business plan, and take the right steps to launch a new venture. The 10-week program integrates classroom instruction, guest entrepreneurs, in-class exercises, case studies, and business plan assignments. Students learn whether self-employment is appropriate for them, and how to launch a venture regardless of their background and familiarity with business.
What stage are you? E Quest seminars are focused on topics of special interest to each stage of entrepreneurial development. A typical E Quest seminar will feature experts giving guidance and entrepreneurs sharing advice from their experiences; and always includes ample time for you to ask questions. When you attend an E Quest seminar, you know you will be getting information that is specifically targeted towards what you and your business is going through NOW.
A business plan competition for the DePaul community in which teams led by DePaul students or recent alumni compete for a prize of cash and entrepreneurial services. The competition progresses through several rounds, culminating in presentations to a panel of expert judges. Throughout the competition, teams are judged on their ability to turn their business plan into a successful venture.
A membership organization that offers networking and discounts on CEC programs. There are two levels of membership: DePaul Family for students, alumni, faculty and staff; and DePaul Supporter for other entrepreneurs from across Chicago. Membership in the DEN gives you more access to the resources that we offer to entrepreneurs.
